Japanese Vintage Noh Mask "Shikijho" Old man. An old man's mask made of wood. The work of Shozan Takami, a Noh mask artist who has been working in Kyoto since the 1960s. The masks of the Okina and Shikijyo were considered sacred, and even today, it is said that the masks are worn for a certain period of time to purify oneself before putting them on. While the Okina has white skin and a noble face, the Shikijyo has a black, tanned face with sparse teeth and a friendly face.
